Hotel Sonnevanck is still not just another bar. What once began as an establishment with a number of speciality beers on draught, has grown into a serious place of entertainment with no fewer than twenty-five speciality beers, with open wines and a temperature controlled wine cabinet with fine wines from various countries and regions, a selection of aperitifs and digestives, and an extensive canapé menu. See the drinks menu for this varied selection of beers, wines and other beverages. Definitely not just a bar!

Here hotel guests like to mingle with the locals and with people who are often only too happy to make the effort of travelling that little bit further to visit what is still known as the Living Room of Wijk aan Zee. As for music, we don’t play CDs but we do organise various music evenings and events, and there is always live music at the weekend!
So you see... Sonnevanck is still accessible for everyone!

Events

The diary lists the dates of jam sessions, music evenings, and literary and theatre dinners. But by no means everything is announced in advance. Because how are we to know when a star guitarist might suddenly decide to deliver a heavenly performance? Or when someone suddenly decides to sit down at the grand piano to reveal their hidden talents? We are as pleasantly surprised as you are. What we do know is that on Fridays and Saturdays there will always be a band on stage or a pianist playing quietly and intimately in the corner. There is always plenty of variation: from funk to folk, from soul to klezmer and from rock to pop.

In fact, not just Hotel Sonnevanck comes alive in Wijk aan Zee on Fridays and Saturdays, the whole street does! As of October, the first Friday of the month there will be a big event organised in collaboration with the other establishments in the street. That really will be some party!
